A pair of Swedish Gustavian armchairs from the early part of the Gustavian period. They have an upholstered, medallion-shaped back splat and a shield-shaped seat. Frieze with carved flowers matching the flowers decorating the top of the back. The rounded legs are channeled ending with a carved corner flower. Retouched paint. 1775-1790.
